A chana masala is a warm Indian curry dish traditionally made using chickpeas - this seasoning creates the perfect chana masala taste.
2 x 400g can chickpeas - drained
1 large onion
2 x 400ml can chopped tomatoes
2 tbsp tomato puree
2 tbsp chana masala seasoning
1 tbsp minced garlic
Fresh green chillies - optional
Heat oil in a pan, add the onions, garlic & chillies, cook until soft.
Add the chana masala seasoning and cook for a further 2 mins or until fragrant, add the tomato puree and mix well.
Add the chickpeas, chopped tomatoes and a pinch of salt and simmer uncovered for 15-20 minutes.
Season to taste with salt, pepper & chillies before serving, top with fresh coriander.
