If you are a fan of hunters chicken then you will LOVE this recipe.
This combines tender chicken, bacon & cheese with our BBQ hunters pie mix, wrapped in tasty puff pastry.
A hit for the whole family! Why not try transforming into a larger pie, or even small bitesized versions - perfect for parties!
1kg chicken breast - sliced
300g bacon - chopped
300g cheese - grated
250g hunters pie mix
Heat oil in a large pan and add the bacon, cook for around 2-3 minutes or until it begins to crisp, remove and set aside.
In the same pan, add the chicken, cook for around 4-5 minutes until browned, remove and set aside.
Add the pie mix to the pan, mixing continuously with a whisk, gradually add the water, bring this to the boil while mixing, the sauce should begin to thicken.
Add in the chicken, bacon and cheese and mix well, remove from the heat and set aside to cool.
Prepare your puff pastry, roll flat and cut into identical squares / rectangles.
Lay one piece of pastry flat and add the cooled filling, top with another piece of pastry and seal the edges with a fork, score the top of the slice, in any pattern you would like, and top with an eggwash (optional).
Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden.
